Sydney based editorial and portrait photographer. Will travel.

As a photographer, Simon Bennett has been shooting for Fairfax Media for the past few years and continues to do so.  Simon has photographed people from the Prime minister to major rock acts from around the globe. In recent years Simon has been shooting documentary and editorial news photos of the people in South West Sydney.

Simon specialises in photographing people, portraits, fashion, and music because of his experiences shooting news and editorial, plus spending four years completing a Diploma in Photography.

Simon is now moving onto the next phase of his career, starting to move down a freelance path, whether that is portraiture, commercial, or advertising. Simon is ready and more than keen to get under way with this new path.

Simon tries to approach his assignments in a simple way but with a different perspective to others. He always goes back to his memories and experiences for his influences in shooting people and commercial assignments.

Career highlights include most recent years finalist in CNA best photo awards and best photo in PANPA awards also, to being shortlisted in Head On in 2009, Highly commended best News photo 2010 for Fairfax Community Newspapers, shooting a front page for the Sydney Morning Herald 2010, Best photo of the year NSW Netball 2011, and Junction Life exhibition opening at the Casula Powerhouse in December 2011 alongside with the traveling Archibald Prize.

By the way, I am ready and available to shoot your portrait, music, fashion, editorial and commercial jobs.
